Why I am grateful for our buddies!

They came to help wrap our Valentine boxes. They saved me Miss McCallister hours of wrapping.

They also helped decorate.

Didn't they turn out great?

Our buddies brought edible play dough for us to play with.

Some got creative and made hearts.

Some did their name.

We look forward to each month when our buddies come for a visit!

Music and Movement

The great thing about having an aide who knows dance is she can teach your child some moves.

The girls really got into this but the boys.......not so much!

We are definitely going to have to do this again!

Sorry boys!

If I took a vote, it would be 12 to 3 in favor of the girls!

Crunchy Snowballs

On the last cooking day we had, we made this yummy sweet snack!

They are made just like Rice Krispies except you make a ball instead of a square shape.

The balls are place in a ziploc bag along with a little powder sugar.

The children shake the bag until the rice krispies ball is coated.

Sports Day!

On Sports Day, its no secret I supported the orange and blue.

Who did everyone else in the class cheer for?

If your child came home saying Warrrrrrrrrr Eagle.....Hey, it's Miss McCallister's fault! :)

100 Second Cookies

One of the activities we did for the 100th day of school was make these cookies. The class enjoyed making these because they were made right in our room on a waffle maker.

When we first saw them, we thought they would taste like waffles. We were surprised to find out they tasted like a sugar cookie. They were quite yummy!

It only took them 100 seconds to bake. This would be a fun recipe to try at home.

100 Second Cookies
(makes approximately 100 cookies)

1 1/2 c softened butter
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 tsp vanilla
3 3/4 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt

Cream together the first four ingredients. Sift together the dry ingredients.: then stir them into the creamed mixture. Drop about 2 tsp of batter onto each of the four quarters of a heated waffle iron and cook for 100 seconds.
